In this lesson we pushed to create a looser, wildly colorful painting. The drawing focused on identifying the connected shapes of shadow that serve as the structure on which bold color and wet on wet brush strokes are layered. In general, I worked wet on wet and blew dry the painting for each photo shown, going from light to building up darks. The final photo I included just to show that I taped off a wide border on my paper - just another option.

I first developed a graphite drawing and added colored pencil. In a separate attempt I used watercolor.
I started with a pencil sketch and then used masking fluid to preserve the light areas around the sheep. Finally, I built up a watercolor.
