fencing
fencing all levels
Wednesdays 7:00 - 8:30 PM (PST)
All skill levels welcome.
Defend your honor and get some exercise!
Build the skills necessary for the duel - offense, defense, counteroffense, footwork, precision and efficiency of movement, confidence, and more.
Wear comfortable athletic clothes (no black, light colors only) and shoes. Class meets once a week.
Regarding fencing equipment:
Students are NOT required to buy their own equipment to join the class. I do supply the foil and the wrist strap. I have adapted my lesson plans to accommodate students without their own gear. All students will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of footwork, offense, defense, and counter offense. When students reach a level of skill where they are ready to take certain lessons or participate in the bout (usually a few terms), then they will be required to purchase the minimum safety equipment. This gives time to decide if the sport is worth the investment.
